ABOUT The FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing the highest degree of law enforcement expertise, leadership training, and information to law enforcement executives around the world. Association members are graduates of the prestigious FBI National Academy Program. The FBINAA has nearly 17,000 members representing all 50 US states and 174 Countries world-wide. The FBINAA is the strongest law enforcement leadership network in the world. Located in Quantico, VA, the FBINAA is a non-political organization and is not affiliated with any special interest group.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

2019 was an outstanding year for the FBINAA and in many ways a year of transformation for how we deliver the highest degree of law enforcement expertise, advocacy, education, and information to law enforcement leaders around the world. None of our association’s achievements would have happened without our members. Mem- bers are the heart and soul of this organization and our mission of “Impacting communities by providing and pro- moting law enforcement leadership through training and networking” could not be accomplished without you. Our impact has grown in all areas of our operations from national officer resiliency, safety, and wellness advocacy events, value-added member engagement opportunities, new business relationships with world-class organizations, cutting-edge leadership education and training, timely and thought-provoking communications, and high-end retail operations. Our goal is to continue to generate a robust array of member services that benefits our members and their command staffs and delivers on our vision of continuous professional development and advancement. COLLABORATION: The Executive Board and staff will continue to support the principle of collaboration which will encourage dialogue with members with different views and perspectives, set aside self-interests, and discuss issues openly, respectfully, and supportively in an attempt to find ways to make the law enforcement community stronger and exceed the FBINAA’s strategic goals. This collaborative effort will only be accom- plished by working together with the members, board leadership, staff, federal/state/local officials, other public safety professional societies, and partners. SERVANT LEADERSHIP: The Executive Board and staff are here to serve the members. The goal is to create a positive member experience and expand opportunities that enhance member engagement and provide a life- time value for membership. This entails amember-centric approach that is focused on newNational Academy graduates and begins by working from the member then to the development of programs and services. Also, it is essential that we all commit to be an organization which encourages respect, diversity, and inclusion on the part of all members and society. STEWARDSHIP: We must respect the proud history of the FBINAA and build on our previous leaders’ ideals and values. We must continue to be forward thinking, be loyal to our brothers and sisters, and trust in the mission and vision of the association. This philosophy must cherish our rich history and accomplishments and expand on these successes to grow the organization. In closing, the FBINAA is stronger andmore vibrant today as we have ever been. We are boldlymoving forward to continue to be the strongest law enforcement leadership network in the world! You never retire from the FBINAA. As we execute our 2020 business plan, the Executive Board and staff are dedicated to these Ideals:

LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

All strong and effective Associations have a member base that is active and engaged. This has resonated with me as I attended impressive Chapter training events over the past year. It is during these events where you see the real strength of the FBI National Academy Associates. Our members are the lifeblood of this Associa- tion andmake this group of leaders unique and special. We have listened to what you have to say about what’s important to you when it comes to this Association through our discussions at Chapter and training events as well as through surveys and your general feedback. 2019 marked a year of enrichment and impact as we fully embraced our mission of providing law enforce- ment leadership training. I’m sure you have noticed the continual roll out of exceptional Leadership Forums. This annual report provides an overview of this remarkable training we hosted for our members and the law enforcement profession through leadership forums, webinars, and national conference. I am proud of our commitment to develop these relevant and trending leadership education programs. These programs do impact our communities as they reach beyond our membership base, to department command staffs, as well as broader reach to school administrators and organizations in the private sector with our School Shooting Prevention Leadership Forums and Cyber Threat Intelligence Leadership Forum. We continue to put focus and emphasis on officer resiliency with impactful training programs and training resources to address this critical concern. In 2019 the Association launched our newest member engagement tool, the FBINAA CONNECT App with huge success. Members can now fully engage in Association News, Events, Forums, Shop, download resources and stay connected to the FBINAA Network with messaging capabilities to other App users. If you haven’t had a chance, download the App to stay connected to your FBINAA. Please take a moment to read through these pages and see all the accomplishments of 2019. It was a busy year but know that we are building on that momentum for the future of this great Association. Next year will mark the 85th year of the FBI National Academy Program and we have witnessed what a strong a viable pro- gram it is. As alumni, we are stewards of that legacy and continue to work hard to ensure that we carry that responsibility by offering extraordinary training and engaging networking opportunities for our members. I am honored to work for you and our executive board to keep this Association strong and sustainable. I am blessed to work with a dedicated and hard-working staff that keeps striving to accomplish goals that bring a better member experience. I look forward to connecting with you at future Chapter events or training programs. When we come together is when the real magic happens and you see why the FBINAA is the “Strongest Law Enforcement Leadership Network in the World.”

THE BEST LEADERSHIP OFFERINGS WORLDWIDE... 48 WORLDWIDE CHAPTERS AND NATIONAL OFFICE PROVIDE PREMIER EDUCATION, TRAINING, & NETWORKING CHAPTERS Education and Training is at the core of the FBI National Academy Associates’ vision. Through our network of 48 Chapters and the National Office, the Education and Training Programs, Leadership Forums, webinars, networking and social activities help members stay current on the latest pub- lic safety trends, technology, education, training and information. In 2019, the FBI National Academy Associates Chapters and National Office conducted over 930 hours of education and training to more than 7,280 members and nonmembers. 7,300 TOTALING OVER 930 HRS OF EDUCATION ATTENDEES TRAINED

TRAINING

55th ANNUAL NATIONAL TRAINING CONFERENCE JULY 20-23, 2019 | PHOENIX, AZ

Nearly 1,900 attended the four-day 2019 Annual Training Conference which included 50 hours of law enforcement training sessions, general membership, two major evening events, a wel- come reception, opening and closing ceremonies, a professional exhibition, and three after- hours receptions. This conference was rated one of the highest for its education, networking and socializing events in the last ten years. The Arizona Host Committee, along with local law enforcement volunteers from the metropolitan Phoenix area are the reason why this conference was a huge success. In addition, the 2019 Annual Training Conference received tremendous support from other section chapters and many local law enforcement agencies in the Arizona Chapter.

OFFICER SAFETY & WELLNESS

OFFICER RESILIENCY, SAFETY & WELLNESS Officer resiliency, safety and wellness continues to be the highest priority of the FBI National Academy Associates. Thanks to the support of the Motorola Solutions Foundation , we continue our objective of providing the Comprehensive Officer Resilience Program ℠ to more agencies throughout our network by conducting the Comprehensive Officer Resilience Program ℠ Train-the-Trainer programs through our Chapter network. Our goal in 2020 is to increase the number of Master Trainers so that we can provide the Comprehensive Officer Resilience Program ℠ Train-the-Trainer program in a more efficient and cost-effective manner to our member agencies. In 2019, thirteen Comprehensive Officer Resilience Program ℠ Train-the-Trainer programs were completed and 176 trainers were certified in the program. 13 COMPREHENSIVE OFFICER RESILIENCE PROGRAM℠ TRAIN-THE-TRAINER PROGRAMS WERE COMPLETED AND 176 TRAINERS WERE CERTIFIED IN THE PROGRAM

9 WEBINARS REACHING OVER 3,100 LAW ENFORCEMENT EXECUTIVES

21ST CENTURY POLICING WEBINAR SERIES FBI National Academy Associates’ 2019 21st Century Policing Webinar Series provided our members and their staff with nine, 60-90-minute webinars focused on cutting-edge law enforcement topics and trends that were delivered by law en- forcement and public safety experts from around the world. These webinars were a free member benefit and reached over 3,100 law enforcement executives.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The FBI National Academy Associates welcomed sixty students to the 21st Session of the FBINAA Youth Leadership Program held at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. Similar to the FBI National Academy Program , students came from all over the world, representing 37 US states, Greece, Latin America, Finland, Latin America, Canada and Africa. The week focused on core subject matter which included Leadership, Ethics, Values and Choices, Situational Leadership, Character Matters, Goal Setting, Managing Change, Ethical Decision

Making, Accountability, Social Media and Financial Responsibility. Students also visited the nation’s capital to visit many impactful museums and memorials including the U.S. Holocaust Museum, U.S. Marine Corp National Museum, the Fredericksburg Battlefield and Arlington National Ceremony. Each session is facilitated by FBINA graduates. Along with YLP Coordinator Bill Gardiner , each section is represented by two (2) counselors. Representing Section 1, Tim Gatley and Amy Bonney . Representing Section 2, Kelli Bailiff and Tom Krsnich . Representing Section 3, Terence Calloway and Julie Barry . Representing Section 4, Lene Bowers and James Rooney .

The first Youth Leadership Program took place in 1998 and as of 2019, 1,090 students have graduat- ed from the program.
