About the Authors: Richard F. Selden , MD, PhD is respon- sible for the conception and development of the ANDE Rapid DNA system, the first and only such system to receive FBI National DNA Index Approval. Over the past 15 years, he has worked closely with thought leaders in the FBI, DoD, and DHS to define system require- ments and Rapid DNA ConOps. He is the author of 38 peer-reviewed publica- tions and the inventor of 43 US patents. James H. Davis is the vice president of Government Affairs for ANDE. He has a long a storied career in Col- orado working with public safety and risk solutions. Prior to that, after 26 years, Jim retired as a Special Agent with the FBI with career high-
